Awesome Art

We live right down the street from Nate's cousin who happens to be married to Andrew Smith. He is a wonderful artist that has done some amazing and very creative stuff. If you have ever been to Primary Children's Hospital and seen the metal/water sculpture inside the building- that was made my Andrew's father. Andrew is just as talented. Luckily for us since we live right down the street from them, we are able to see his works in progress.
We were invited to go over last night and check out what he's been doing. The highlight for our girls was the fog ring machine. It blows these big rings of smoke that linger in the air for a minute or two. Andrew explains it better on his website and you can watch short video clips of what his inventions do.
His link is www.andrewsmithart.com

The two sculptures/inventions that we saw last night in his warehouse were previously bought by Ripley's Believe it or Not and will be displayed in one of their museums.

You can also check out this short youtube video of him.

Funny. I grew up with Andrew. He was in my grade and ward growing up. And his older sis was my fave babysitter of all time. I love his stuff and his dad's stuff too. so innovative.

That's pretty cool. There is an artist in our ward that works with shaping metal. We took the cub scouts there a couple weeks ago... now I know who can hook me up next year when we are looking for something like that! :)
