Ten weeks ago Nate took Hannah and Lacey to the store to get something that they could grow. They came home with two Amaryllis bulbs. They each planted their bulb in soil, watered it and took care of it for ten straight weeks. Every morning they would come out to their plants and see if they had grown.
In the past couple of weeks they really started to get big and then one day, the little flowers started to emerge. Hannah's turned out to be a red Amaryllis and Lacey's was white.
Here are some pics of their very pretty flowers and they were sure proud of themselves for growing them.

Oh how fun! So pretty too!
What a fun idea. I've found you really have to get creative in the winter to find different fun things to do with the kids! (the swimming pool was a great idea too)
They do look proud, don't they?
I was totally thinking how bored we are now that it's been so cold and snowy. We may have to have a "summer day" too...pull out the shorts, pool, and popsicles - all indoors!
What a good idea.
