Hannah's 8th birthday/Father's Day

We had a great weekend filled with lots of family time, presents, good food and fun.

We had a Father's Day/birthday party with my family on Saturday and then slept over at my parent's house that night and were able to spend Father's day morning with them. My mom spoiled my dad and Nate with a yummy breakfast. Then we had another fun get-together at the Nydegger's house on Sunday afternoon.

Hannah also turned 8 years old yesterday! She is more than excited to be baptized next week. I'm excited too, but also wondering where the last 8 years went! Hannah is beautiful inside and out and cares so much for other people. She is sweet, loving, kind, sensitive, smart and such a good big sister to Lacey. We love having her in our family!

Here are some pictures of our fun weekend.

One Day....

I've always had a picture in my mind of what my house would look like. And if dreams come true, I'll have a beautiful tree covered lane just like this one leading to my house with a wrap around porch. One day... right?

I took this picture yesterday of some land right by where we live.
Exactly what I want.
As you drive back, it leads to this beautiful house, bridge, waterfalls and just a picture perfect setting.
If this place ever goes up for sale, I'm begging Nate to buy it for me.

I even went as far as getting permission from the owner to take pictures.
They were appreciative of me asking. They said people have just shown up and started taking engagements pics, family pics etc. and haven't even bothered to ask first.
For these unfortunate souls, sprinklers have been turned on.
Glad I asked!
The owners even requested that I come back with a picture of their lane. :) Looks like I'm on their good side. Perfect spot for family pictures, engagments and such. Don't you think?

a,b,c's and 1,2,3's

Hannah is loving 2nd grade.
She keeps telling me her favorite subjects are math and reading.

Kindergarten has been a great experience for Lacey so far.
She says art, recess and checking out library books are the best things about school.

Both girls go around telling their friends.."My Mom works at our school. How cool is that?"

I'm loving my job at the elementary school. The kids I work with are so fun and cute.
There are couple of children I work with who I also teach in primary.
My first day when the teacher introduced me as "Mrs. Nydegger", a few of them said...
"That's not Mrs. Nydegger, that's Sister Nydegger."

All in all, the school year has started off great. :)

So many things happening....

Number One:  We're moving...AGAIN!
But not far away fortunately. We found a home to rent for the next three to four years and the best part is that it's still in our ward boundaries! We love this ward and did not want to part with it.
Oh, there is another great thing about moving to this house and that would be a clubhouse with an indoor/all year round swimming pool, hot tub and sauna! You certainly cannot beat that!

Number Two:  I'm a working woman!
I now have a job at Hannah and Lacey's elementary school and my girls are pretty stoked to have me there. Hannah actually jumped up and down when she found out. Made my day!
I'm sure when they get older they would be less excited, but for now they welcome me with open arms.

My official job title is a paraprofessional. Which is really an aide job for reading, math and whatever else they tell me to do. I start this next week and will be working 5 days a week in the mornings.  I'm pretty excited and a little extra cash never hurt! I've been thinking a lot about what I would do when both of my girls were in school and this is the perfect thing. I work the same hours that Lacey is in Kindergarten, so it works out great. I studied Special Ed and Elementary Education when I was attending the University of Utah several years ago, but then stayed home when I had my babies. So who knows, maybe I'll go to Utah State and finish my degree one day.
So between moving, some training for my job and the girls back in school with homework to do, things will get pretty busy.

Number Three:  Assistant Camp Director no longer! But CAMP DIRECTOR it is now!
Yep, I'm the woman in charge. I'm actually really excited for it and loved going to Girl's Camp this summer. We have some great young women in our ward and it'll be fun to get to know them more. I know it's a big job and can get stressful, but I think I'm up for the challenge.

Number Four:  Lacey is starting ballet/jazz.
This little girl has been bugging and bugging me for a good year now to start dance and now she is. We were lucky enough to get in with a lady in our ward for an EXTREMELY good price.  It's such a good price I had to ask her three times if I was hearing correctly. Lacey has been all smiles since I told her that she can finally go to dance class. :)

Number Five:  Nate has become a golfer.
His boss is to thank for Nate's new obsession with golf and my Dad is to thank for lending Nate his very nice set of golf clubs. He's been working half a day on Tuesday's and then golfing the rest with the two partner's in the firm and another co-worker. The first time he went was quite comical I hear. Nate hit the golf ball, looked for it to land, couldn't see it and then something hits him right on the head. Yep, he ended up hitting the golf ball in a way that it shot straight up and then came back down right on his head. His boss and co-worker saw the whole thing and were pretty much rolling around on the grass laughing. I wish I could have seen it!

I'm really behind on posts such as my girls trip to San Diego in June, Disneyland trip, West Fork camping, first day of school for my girls and I'm sure there are other things I'm missing as well. One day I'll get caught up, but don't quote me on that.

Firework Battle Wound

Pioneer Day celebration + fun = fireworks
Firework + defect = nasty burn on the back of my leg

Our night went like this....

Lacey is afraid of fireworks, but this is the first year where she has decided she wants to be outside.
So we situate our selves back up against the house. Away from everyone else and the fireworks.

We are having fun watching the fireworks and enjoying some yummy popcorn. Then I realize a big red flash is coming at me. It's heading straight for Lacey, who is on my lap. I literally throw her and the bowl of popcorn to the side. I start to feel an awful burning sensation on the back of my right leg and my right elbow.
Hmmm....was I really just hit by a firework? More burning starts to set in. YEP! I sure was.

Lacey is screaming hysterically and everyone thought she was burnt. Her blanket ended up getting a little burnt, luckily not Lacey. But oh boy, was Lacey upset when she saw her blanket. You would've thought someone had died. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if I hadn't thrown Lacey out of the way. She just might have gone into shock if she had been burnt with how hysterical she tends to get.

Now I'm inside my in-laws house and I have Nate and his Dad determining the damage of my leg. It's covered with this hot white powder as was the lawn chair I was sitting in.
They doctored me up and I camped out laying on my stomach on the floor for the rest of the evening. (due to it was pretty painful to bend my knee or have any pressure on the back of my leg.) Lacey came in at one point and asked..."Is the fire making Momma dead now? I don't want her dead." Ah...thanks Lace. :)

Hannah's blanket ended up catching on fire a little bit and a nice hole was burnt. She's quite upset about it. It's one of her favorite blankets from my Mom- a Halloween one. Crazy thing though, Hannah's blanket wasn't anywhere near me and Lacey. It was on the opposite end of the lawn. Apparently the malfunctioning firework spewed off in 3 different directions. We're lucky no one else got hit. It could have been a lot worse.

Needless to say, I think this was the straw that broke the camel's back for Lacey ever liking fireworks. Yep, that oughta do it!

Now the back of my leg looks so lovely and it's so fun to try and bend it with a wonderful burning and aching sensation.

We'll mark this one down in our Fun Summer Adventure of 2011 book!! Good times.

The Princess is 5!

Happy 5th Birthday Lacey!!!!

These five years have come and gone WAY too quickly.
You have such a fun personality and the most kissable cheeks.
I love how you are ALL girl.
Princesses, crowns, dress-ups, tea parties and anything pink are what you love most.
You LOVE chocolate. More often than not, you can be found munching on a piece it.
If I would let you eat chocolate for every meal, you would.

I love how I can always find you by your bed saying a little prayer for everyone in our family and you tell me..."I say a prayer just because I love everyone so much and I want them to be happy."
You often say prayers like.."Bless me to have sleep-overs at Corbin's house, Isabell's house, Zachary's house and to take a trip to Cactus (as you call Texas). You know, that's where Aunt Erin, Jackson, and those guys live."
 You definitely love your family.
I couldn't resist taking a picture of you praying the other day.
You were saying.."Thanks for my warm blankets, my animals, my fun days and help that we never get dead."

I love how you say and do the most random things. It brings smiles to our faces every day.
You were doing some sort of dance/jig and found it to be really funny to pull your shorts up.
I love how you make me laugh.

You adore your sister.
You try to be big like Hannah and do everything that she does.

Thank you for being a part of our family.
We love you so much!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
xoxo

I love you higher than the sky and deeper than the ocean!
